Drivers License Medicals
Kaiapoi Family Doctors provides DL9 medical assessments for patients who require a medical certificate for their driver licence.
These assessments help determine whether you are medically fit to drive safely and may be required when renewing certain licences or endorsements, reaching certain ages, or if you have a medical condition that could affect your ability to drive safely.
We offer Driver License Medicals to our enrolled patients ONLY.
Make an appointment
You may need a DL9 medical if you are:
- Turning 75 years old or older – medical assessments are required at age 75, age 80, and every 2 years thereafter.
- Applying for or renewing a heavy vehicle licence (Classes 2, 3, 4 or 5), if a medical certificate has not been provided within the previous 5 years.
- Applying for or renewing certain endorsements, including Passenger (P), Vehicle Recovery (V), Driving Instructor (I), or Testing Officer (O).
- Living with a medical or mental health condition that could affect your ability to drive safely.
The cost for the Driver Licence Medical is $105.
